The South Australian Jockey Club is proud to be South Australia’s largest, and premier racing club, playing host to 58 days of racing action throughout the year at Morphettville Racecourse. In addition to racing on a weekly basis, Morphettville is a multipurpose venue featuring 22 function rooms able to host events of all occasions 7 days a week.

Airport Transfers

There are plenty of transport options from Adelaide Airport to your desired destination. Adelaide's international and domestic terminals are located just 7km from the CBD, approximately a 15 minute drive.

Adelaide Metro Bus

JetExpress is a double-decker bus that conducts express trips between Adelaide Airport and the City. Operating hourly during the week, JetExpress is your express service taking you near many key city attractions and locations, including over 20 hotels and apartments in the city. Adelaide Metro also offers a convenient JetBus service to Glenelg, West Beach and the City, servicing all stops en route.

Both JetExpress and JetBus are Metroticket services. Single trip and daytrip tickets can be purchased from bus drivers.

Shuttle Bus

Airport City Shuttle offers a Door to Door service from Adelaide Airport to Adelaide Hotels and Businesses. The cost is $10.00 per person each trip. Please click here for more information regarding pick-up and operating hours.

Taxis

There is a designated taxi area outside the terminal. Please be aware that a $3.00 levy is added to the fare for taxis to exit the airport.

Ride Sharing

Services such as Uber are now available at Adelaide Airport. A $3.00 levy is added to the fare for ride sharing vehicles to exit the airport. A designated pick-up area is located outside the airport. Please click here for more information regarding pick-up and drop-off bays for ride sharing.

Car Rental

Getting Around Adelaide

The Adelaide Metro is the city's public transport system, with an extensive array of services that include buses, trains and trams throughout the city and the greater metropolitan area.

MetroCARD

To utilise public transport in South Australia, a MetroCARD is required.

If you do not wish to purchase a metroCARD, single and day tickets are also available. Please be aware that correct change is required to purchase these on public transport. For more information please click here.

MetroCARD's Visitor Pass

Adelaide Metro has an exciting new initiative for their transport systems: Visitor Pass. With Visitor Pass, simply pay $25.00 for unlimited travel for three consecutive days. The pass can be used on all bus, train and tram lines throughout the city. This is the perfect way to take advantage of seeing the city and surrounds whilst at the Gathering!

Seniors Card on Public Transport

Do you have a seniors card? 

Anyone who holds a valid Australian State or Territory Seniors Card is eligible for FREE Adelaide Metro public transport Monday to Friday before 7:00am, between 9:01am and 3:00pm, after 7:01pm and all day Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
Simply visit Adelaide Airport’s Information Booth, WHSmith Express at the ground floor arrivals area of the Adelaide Airport, the Visitor Information Centre at shop 9 James Place, Adelaide (just off Rundle Mall) or an Adelaide Metro InfoCentre, show your interstate Seniors Card and you will be issued with a temporary Metroticket which will be valid for a maximum of 14 days.
