Australian Men's Shed Association's National Awards

AMSA's National Men's Shed Awards give the Men's Shed network an opportunity to recognise the outstanding work of Men's Sheds around Australia. Nominated Men's Sheds must be a member of AMSA.

Nominations fall into five (5) categories:

  • Unique fundraising activity - most Sheds undertake fundraising activities (Bunnings BBQ's, market stalls etc), what's the most unique fundraising activity your shed has seen?
  • Unusual Shed activity - Men's Sheds are not just about wood work and metal work.
  • Best Shed garden - does your Shed have an impressive flower or produce garden?
  • Outstanding recycling/ up-cycling activity - Shedders are all about recycling, what does your Shed do?
  • Shed of the Year - do you love the time spent at your Shed enough to nominate it for the best Shed in Australia?

The nomination form can be found here

Anthony Ackroyd will be entertaining the Men's Shed Gathering delegates at the Conference Dinner.

Anthony Ackroyd is one of Australia's most successful comedians and speakers. He is currently one of the stars of ABC's Thank God It's Friday!, the top rating radio comedy show in Australia. Before becoming a comedian Anthony worked as a busker, actor, puppeteer, songwriter, musician and was the lead singer in the almost famous rock band Albatross.

Bush Poet Murray Hartin will also provide entertainment at the Conference Dinner.

If you haven’t heard the yarns “Turbulence”, “The Hog Whisperer” or the haunting “Rain From Nowhere” you probably haven’t heard of Murray Hartin. But the bloke from Moree is recognised as one of the best in the business and remains a favourite with audiences across Australia with poems that have justifiably made their way into Australian folklore. His rapid-fire, rhyming recitals, which can cover anything from the perils of yoga to visiting the dentist to his lovely ANZAC tribute, The Slouch Hat, create vivid and often hilarious mental images that will stay with you forever.

More information will be available as it comes.
