Mission Australia

Mission Australia is a national Christian charity that has been standing alongside Australians in need since 1859. Our vision is for an Australia where all of us have a safe home and can thrive. Backed by our supporters, churches, funders and partners, we combat homelessness, provide housing, assist struggling families and children, address mental health issues, fight substance dependencies, support people with disability and much more. Given the right support, we believe everyone can reach their full potential. That’s why we stand together with Australians in need, until they can stand for themselves.

Plumtree is a not-for-profit organisation that helps families thrive. Trusted for over 30 years, we provide support for children aged birth to eight years with a disability or developmental delay and their families to have a full life in the community. We draw on the diverse expertise of our staff, including parent-peer workers, to provide tailored support such as education, therapy, information, and training. Our innovations include the award-winning Now & Next, a by families for families program, which helps parents develop a vision and skills to achieve positive outcomes for their child and family. We also proudly pioneer new ways to include families and parent peer workers in research and other projects to change lives and build better inclusive communities. Three projects currently funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services are Community and Me, Libraries as Community Connectors, and Parents as Peer Leaders.
