SSA 2022 Executive Committee

Welcome Message

On behalf of the Spine Society of Australia, it is a pleasure to invite you to attend the Society’s 33rd Annual Scientific Meeting to be held at Darwin Convention Centre, Northern Territory, Australia.

The SSA is proud to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and strengthen friendships amongst those who work in the complex and challenging field of spinal disorders. We are excited to host the first face to face SSA meeting to be held since 2019 with what promises to be an outstanding scientific program, and most importantly an opportunity to come together once again.

A/Prof Robert Gaines has accepted the invitation to attend the Darwin meeting in person after his thought provoking virtual presentation in 2021. A/Prof Gaines is the Director of Spinal Reconstruction Fellowship Program in University of Missouri School of Medicine. Joining him will be Dr George Vastardis, one of the internationally leading instructors for International Endoscopic Spine Surgery.

Darwin is magical in May being the start of the dry season. It is a popular and truly unique place to visit and if your last visit was a number of years ago you will be amazed how it has changed.  This year we are also introducing a partners program.  Make the most of your trip to the Top End and spend some time exploring the area before and after the event!

We look forward with great excitement to welcoming you to Darwin. An experience not to be missed.
