Welcome
On behalf of Dr Bill Sears and the members of the Spine Society of Australia, I’d like to invite you to the second annual Registrars and Fellows Instructional Course.
The topic for this years course will be Spinal Trauma. It will be held at the Biomechanics and Implants Laboratory at Flinders University on the 15th and 16th of July.
The course will combine a mixture of:
- didactic presentations,
- biomechanical testing of cadaver specimens simulating trauma,
- biomechanical testing to failure of common surgical constructs, and a
- cadaveric skills lab.
The course objective is to give you the theoretical and practical skills required to competently manage all aspects of spinal trauma.
For those still in training the course aims to provide a fundamental platform from which you can base your ongoing studies to prepare for your Part 2 Examination.
The faculty for the course are experienced practicing neuro and orthopaedic surgeons regularly managing complex spinal trauma.
I look forward to seeing you in Adelaide.
Yours, Rob Kuru
