Spine Society of Australia: Trainee and Fellow Weekend

Idiopathic Scoliosis & Spondylolisthesis in the Adolescent
with Hands-on Experience with Intra-operative Spinal Navigation

1 - 2 March 2025 - Surgical Skills Lab, Epworth Hospital - Melbourne, VIC

Welcome Message

On behalf of the SSA President, Associate Professor John Costi and the members of the Spine Society of Australia, I'd like to invite you to the annual Registrars and Fellows Instructional Course.

This course will focus on Idiopathic Scoliosis and Spondylolisthesis deformity correction in the adolescent.

The course will be held at the Surgical Skills Lab at the Epworth Hospital in Melbourne on the weekend of March 1st and 2nd.  The weekend will include didactic lectures, small group case-based discussions and hands-on surgical skills stations using Fusetec models that have been specially designed with the specific pathology we'll be learning to treat.  Trainees will also get the opportunity to get hands-on experience with several different forms of intra-operative spinal navigation for placement of spinal instrumentation.

The course will be taught by an experienced faculty of Paediatric Spine Surgeons from around Australia.

For this course, we would like to thank Globus Medical, LifeHealthcare and Brainlab, who have all agreed to help sponsor and support the course.

I look forward to seeing you in Melbourne.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Kris Lundine
Education Coordinator, Spine Society of Australia
