Dr Sumitha Gounden, Rehabilitation Medical Head of Department, Orange Health Service, Clinical Lecturer, Sydney University Medical School of Rural Health and Charles Stuart University.
She is honorary member of Pain and Musculoskeletal and Disaster Rehabilitation Special Interest Group under the auspices of RMSANZ. She is passionate about education and she has run various education workshops including musculoskeletal workshop in Orange for Rehabilitation trainees and GPs for the last 9 years.
She use to provide international tele- rehabilitation service after hours to subacute spinal rehabilitation centre in rural India but due to COVID it is currently on halt. She runs the yearly winter blood donation campaign called “Red Love in Orange” to increase the blood donor numbers during winter.
She is currently working on a structured Telerehab model of care for rural and remote rehab patients in the district.
