Professor Michael Nilsson, MD, PhD, is the Director of the Centre for Rehab Innovations (CRI) and Global Innovation Chair of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Newcastle. Michael and the CRI team are developing interdisciplinary, technology-supported solutions for individually-tailored health and rehabilitation programs in the home and community settings, aged care environments, and within rehabilitation centres.
Michael is a senior Rehabilitation Physician and translational neuroscientist currently holding parallel positions as Visiting Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at the LKC School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore; La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia and University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He is funded from different research organisations including the NHMRC and their Project, Ideas, Development and Partnership schemes, and has authored over 225 peer-reviewed articles in leading scientific journals.
